I'm moving my account over to @benhamill. I don't wanna get into the details, but if you're really interested, I guess DM me over there. I'll import my follows momentarily. A bit sad to go because I love a lot of people on this instance.
Uh. I like to kindpost, I guess. It's a new skill I'm learning, anyway. Also real bad joaks.
I try to learn about intersectional social justice and am trying to develop the habit of taking concrete, real world action about it more often.
I've got a linguistics degree that I don't use professionally (I'm in software), but I love to talk about words and things.
I think play and playfulness are super important. I enjoy roleplaying, board and video games.
I'm a mod on #WitchesTown. Ask me if you have questions (though I only speak English, do I'm not much help to our large population of French speakers).
My family afforded me a brief nap today. I dreamed I was playing a game a bit like Journey, but there was voice chat and more people playing together than 2. I fell in with a gang of unbearably cool French anarchist kids who all mostly knew each other IRL. We got to a part where you skate/boarded downhill in twilight and they were doing all sorts of awesome tricks while making up raps about the black block and shit in a mix of English and French. I was amazed they tolerated my presence, but they were so nice.
I'm pretty sure this was a dream about #WitchesTown.

Listening to the Life is Strange: Before the Storm soundtrack and this vista seemed very appropriate.

[taps mic] now would be a good time to announce that I'm working on a list of Games With LGBTQ Characters Releasing in 2018 for @JStationX!
If you're making a game that fits that description please @ me! I cannot guarantee that your game will be featured but I would love to hear about it :)
Shout out to @jasminehenry. I absolutely love how she approaches subjects in gaming.
One of my favorite new writers in gaming journalism.
Follow @JStationX too.

Good morning, witches and wicks! 🌇
Ugh. I stayed up until almost 2am again. Whyyyyyyy? I don't really want to make dozing on the bus part of my daily routine. It's not like it's real rest and that is reading time, damnit.
OK. Off to bed. 💤
Will the joke of intentionally pretending to misunderstand someone who was being perfectly clear and reasonable by exploiting some grammatical or semantic ambiguity every stop being amusing to me?
I think we both know the answer is no.
Also these arrived today. Binti: The Night Masquerade and Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor and a boxed set of the Wrinkle in Time series by Madeline L'Engle. I read the first of the latter in maybe elementary school, but I've forgotten nearly all of it and I didn't know it was a series until a few years ago. With the movie coming out, I figure I should get in there.

Damnit. I also forgot to tag it #books #nowreading I'm so bad at this, gosh.
Ah shit. I forgot the image description. It's a picture of the book cover, though. It says the title and authors, as you might expect.
Next up is Street Fight by Janette Sadik-Khan and Seth Solomonow. It's about urban design and cities, not actual revolution in the streets. A friend lent it to me because we talk a lot about bike lanes and good use of land and shit.

Well, I finished Altered Carbon by Richard K. Morgan this evening. I've ranted previously about the extreme Straight Male Gaze thing going on. That's really my only gripe and I think it was all the more frustrating because most of the rest of the story was so good. There are definitely ways it could have been written to avoid the SMG issues and still had the same narrative beats and themes. I'm interested in the Netflix series, but cautiously. If they tone down the SMG, it could be awesome. If they crank it up, I'm 100% out. I also don't think I'll pick up the rest of the series unless someone can assure me the author figured some stuff out. #books
