But some of the related materials I've seen were tests where the teacher took points off because the kid estimated "wrong" and ended up with the exact correct answer. It was something like they expected the kids to estimate to the nearest 10s and the student estimated to the nearest 5 or something.

@Qwyrdo Yeah. We say that in Austin, for sure. It's just usually about humidity or rain fall or cloud cover, not 30°F swings in temperature in a single day. WTF.

@guerrillarain I find this trend really frustrating in pop love songs. Like, "She doesn't know how beautiful and that's why she's beautiful"?!? Fucking sit the hell down with your patronizing bullshit. Especially since the songs I'm thinking of are marketed at middle and early high school aged girls. It's helping to do long term damage to their incipient self esteem and identity. Ugh.

Yesterday, it was too cold for me to want to ride my bike to take the kids to school. This morning was warm enough that I wore my light jacket open and regretted having the sleeves, even. This weekend, the temperature will crater again. It's a damn rollercoaster over here and I kinda want off.
