@grainloom TBH, I'm a fan of grammatical systems that introduce new words, rather than inflecting existing ones when tense or number or case or whatever shows up. It does for grammar what the alphabet did for reading (at least theoretically).

@pnathan Yeah. We occasionally wax more patriotic than I like. Which doesn't take a lot of patriotism, tbh. 😜

@grainloom In the interest of more chaos, I'm going to start using vowel mutation to mark past tense in all my verbs. "Finished" > "funished", etc.

We should recruit someone else to eschew mutation entirely and do the past tense like the future: "did finish".

@pnathan Just in case: I'm not speaking right now as an official representative of UA. If you want or need anything to quote in, like, writing, I can see about who I might should direct you to. I also don't really know anybody that works on the shirts-and-shoes marketing anything.

But at a guess: Probably the Olympics? I bet it's segmented and folks in other countries are getting materials aligned with the teams of theirs we're sponsoring. I could be wrong.

@equal For sure. He fails at things that even apply to most rich white men: Imagine wanting to present yourself to your mom differently to your college friends differently to your boss. Like… he shouldn't even have to step outside his life experience to get the idea (if not the severity of getting it wrong in the examples you pointed out).

I sort of wonder how it might map to things like scuttlebutt. I haven't done much thinking about it, but it sort of reminds me of how different people assign different display names to each other, but that's not QUITE the same as multiple faces. Hmm hmm.

Built in is the idea that one account ID might be able to be logged in more than one way and might have more than one public identity.
