Mornin', y'all.
@staticsafe @Vann Having watched some videos and read reviews, it looks like it might actually increase micromanaging traffic? Hard to say.
I wish for tools like protected bike lanes (or any bike lanes) and dedicated bus lanes and stuff like that. And whether you allow street parking or not or whatever. And bike share as a transit option.
Stuff I've read about the real world leads me to believe that often a road can carry the same number of cars sometimes faster in fewer lanes if the traffic is more organized. So I want those tools.
@msh Haha. Well, I can't say I'm surprised. 😜
@suetanvil That's… that's the joke. Canada is very wide. And tall, though that's deceptive since most folks are huddled against the warmth of the southern border.
Anyway, yeah. Her original stuff is really great and I love it. I just—she would cover this song perfectly. I understand why it's super unlikely to come to be, though.
@staticsafe @Vann Does it? That would be awesome. I actually like there idea of traffic management, but know enough about it that I want to try stuff that games like those often don't really let you.
Also the driver lane preference algo was super naive last I looked into it.
Shit. Now I'm gonna buy more DLC aren't I?
Shit. Autocorrupt is wrecking me tonight. Damnit.
@Vann I have to resist buying the DLCs every time they go on sale or whatever.
@Vann That game is fun and frustrating.
@viciousviscosity You, too, can pretend to have etymological super powers with etymonline.com. It is one of my very favorite sites. 😜
@starkatt This is a very interesting question and I have no idea house to approach it. Like, I have done things that are either physically or mentally (or both) difficult. But when I try to think back on them, I can't focus on the difficulty. Sooner of it is that how I felt after having done them takes up so much space. Also I end up thinking about what I learned from it.
IDK. Very thought provoking. Thanks. 💖
@viciousviscosity Looks like "could" comes from "cuðe" which was the past tense of the ancestor of "can". In the 14c., The ending changed to just -d and in the 15c. the -l- was added but it's ahistorical probably by influence of the other two.
"Should" comes from "sceolde" which was the past tense of the ancestor of "shall" and "would" from "wolde" which was the past tense of the ancestor of "will". In both cases the -l- was originally pronounced.
@ruth Yeah. Agree. I need to make time to read more that there intro.
@staticsafe Just next time you see her at the meetings or whatever. 😜
Do I have any Canadian followers? Because I need someone to mention to Carly Rae Jepsen how awesome it would be if she covered and adapted Stevie Winwood's Higher Love.
…
All Canadians know each other, right?
@ruth I love the over-use of diaereses in the intro (add much as I've read so far).
