I'm still looking for an entry-level UX Design or Game Design job in the Seattle/Redmond area, if anyone has any good leads!

@mauve Also there's not really room (either technically in terms of character counted or socially) for actual discussion of stuff in a deep or nuanced way. Which sort of combined with what you described in a feedback loop.

@noelle I'm not a manager, and our hiring managers aren't the first people to see resumes at my job, but when I'm involved in an interview process (which had been and will be pretty common because my sister team had been hitting and my team is about to be) I tend to focus really heavily on communication and empathy skills. Describing how a candidate kept the right people updated or gathered consensus for an idea or even just wrote useful documentation are all good signs.

@posit@chitter.xyz @Tom @amphetamine @HTHR I don't know what is this thread, but it is fucking magical master artwork. You are all gifts.

@Jo God. So many of those titles are SO GOOD, though.

I mean to type "nearby bush", but "nearby backpack" also works. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I feel like this is the equivalent to some of the epic clumsiness I occasionally get up to. E.g. trip on nothing, stumble forward 3 paces, spin around, fumble my phone up, ALMOST catch it, but fumble it forward 8 feet, then manage to spike it into a nearby backpack and somehow my glasses end up hooked on a tree branch 12 feet off the ground.

Sometimes, I fail at mousing and I click :sigil: on the wrong post, then unclick it, click it on the right post, then click :channel: on it, unclick THAT and finally find the reply button. 🤦🏻‍♂️

@iliana Holding up like Atlas or holding up like Bonnie and Clyde?

@alyx Ahhh. I see. So in that case you'd replace, "Let's look at what…" with maybe, "Have a look at what…" or something?

@alyx What's a context where such a voice is not supposed to, uh, be?

I don't do much formal writing, so I have no idea about this.

TFW you make a small, hard-to-see typo and spend a day and a half crawling through the bowls of your codebase trying to debug it only to have someone else point it out to you. 🤦🏻‍♂️

@staticsafe This is relevant to my interests. Thanks!

@vahnj Yeah. I took your meaning. Some things are very traditional and some things are changed and I feel like the former sort of gives a sense of familiarity or safety so that you can understand or take in the latter. I liked that aspect a lot.

I'm in the start of book 3, so far and still liking it. There's even more ladies over time, which is rad.

@staticsafe What is a… Texas Low pressure area? I feel like, as a native Texan, I should know.
