my strongest memory of LA is one from years ago

i was a on a supersport, it was a clear night

i was moving at LA highway speed (ohh i dunno, 160kph?) down one of those monster 8-lane highways that pass through the whole mess of the sprawl

the reflectors, the streetlights, the city below were all glowing, point-lit

overhead were overpasses, ramps, we went into tunnels, and back out again

i looked up at one point, and saw a behemoth structure of unknown purpose that was part of the highway construction looming overhead

see, when you look at something from a motorcycle, you can see *everything*. the helmet doesn't interfere with your vision at all really

the sheer size of it, over this already massive space, that still stretched so far in all directions despite our speed, was inhuman and awesome

it was horrifying, but also, exciting
