In professionally edited and published novels sometimes I'll see a word like "casually" used in a context that obviously fits "causally" better. I always wonder where the fail lies in that. Is there an editor who didn't know the word the author put and so "corrected" it? Did the editor (or author) expect the right word so much that they didn't notice there was a different work hanging out because they're so close? 🤔
