I'm not going to say that console gaming is dying or whatever. It clearly has plenty of life left, it's just interesting that it is becoming less significantly different from PC gaming.

Honestly, the only reason I still buy console (not portable) games is because I refuse to run Windows.

Fourth: Nintendo is the only one doing anything you can't just do with a PC and a gamepad, and it's been that way since the original DS.

Fifth: Current CPUs have graphics that can run reasonably current games at low settings, and a ton of gamers don't really care too much. They won't run brand new games too well, but the people who can afford $60 games are likely to also spend money on dedicated hardware.

Third: Physical games have been dead on PC for a long time. The console manufacturers are trying to shift everyone to downloading games instead of buying physical basically to eradicate the idea of used games. Used games make these games accessible to audiences that would otherwise just not buy them until the digital price came down, which all of these companies are loathe to do.

It's weird how current consoles are losing a lot of their advantages over current PC games.

First: Games are no longer as simple as put the disk/cart in and play. It's put the disk/cart in and update, probably install some data, which can take a really long time.

Second: Systems like the New Nintendo 3DS now mean that not all 3DS titles are compatible with all 3DS systems. Sony and Microsoft say that they won't do that with their versions of this concept, but I sincerely
