some ideas for ways to honour Ursula K. LeGuin:

- punch a fascist
- pet a cat
- invent a gender
- join a collective
- have an orgy
- run for city council
- live in the woods
- protest in the streets
- dream

This semester my community is doing Lugi Cherubini's Requiem: youtube.com/watch?v=MiZAE8rzFf It's such a gorgeous piece, and I'm getting a kick out of singing in Latin (only the second time I've done so).

@piratejane All the damn time. My own brother--who is even a doctor!--can't remember that gluten isn't the problem. *sigh*

@Lapis Yeah, my counselor is really good--except when she's in a session with someone. Which is totally understandable, but also kind of has me wishing she'd always take a couple hours to respond, just so I don't get my hopes up!

@WelshPixie I hope you do too! Already looking forward to seeing more pics. 😄

@WelshPixie Oh wow. The flycatcher is adorable! But that hawk. Daaaaayum.

@snoothy I suspect most people will vary a bit throughout their lives. Both in alignment and in organizational techniques. 😉

@matt Clearly, you're off the chart. ;-)

@aldersprig OMG. That's fabulous. Do you know what/where the image is from?

@Anke Wish I could take credit! But it's from a public service announcement dating from my childhood.

My get-up-n-go has got up and went.

This morning before choir practice, someone was trying to remember the name of the Maori warrior dance. I came up with "haka" just fine, but for some reason was trying to tack a second word onto it, that I couldn't remember. Just figured it out. Was trying to turn it into "haakaaa paalle," which is what the Finnish cavalry yell in the book 1632 (supposedly translates to "hack them down).
