In case you've wondered why Okies tend to be such die-hard weather watchers (aside from the tornadoes). See especially Arnett, where the temp dropped from 66.9F to 33.6F in one hour, one fine January day.

As Will Rogers noted, if you don't like the weather in , just wait a minute. It'll change.

@Lapis Have you figured out your thesis topic, or still in planning/exploratory stages?

Yeah, a lot of us in the social sciences and humanities get flustered by math at some point. You can do it! *shakes pom poms*

@Lapis Fun! (I was an English major, Gender Studies minor. But attended a liberal arts school and so ended up taking a couple anthro classes.)

Stats was my favourite math class, after geometry. But I also really like logic puzzles, and that's basically what statistics are: logic puzzles with numbers.

@gamehawk No further updates? Hope you got heat, and if not, were able to easily relocate to a hotel.

@Lapis Do you mind sharing what you're studying?

@Lapis I've not tried using the tape, but my bujo is a and not at all artistic/pretty! Totally understand about not wanting it to be a chore--that takes away from the usefulness, for me.

Re: pens, I do find it helpful to stick with a handful of colors and then rotate by day. That lets me easily see if/when I edited something. Especially helpful on pages where I've got project notes--gives a nice visual on how ideas have changed.

@whami But are you so awake that you've seen into the next dimension/astral plane? 😉

@Lapis Washi tape is just pretty tape. It's available in most craft and office supply stores in my area, as well as Target and similar.

Have been doing for almost a year now and am still fiddling with layouts on a regular basis. It's fun, and allows for accommodating different needs at different times.

@whami At least you know they aren't going to close any time soon?

Well that's totally unsurprising.

From here: openpsychometrics.org/tests/OS (can't HT the person I got the link from as can't find the post again. but thanks!)

@distelfliege @ruth Oh poor thing. That's tough--if she won't completely hide and she doesn't want to be held...it might be best to just let her do what she needs to, as distressing as that can be for us humans.

@distelfliege @ruth Heh, yeah, with a cat it'd have to be something they'd work up to. Or maybe just using the corner of a weighted blanket?

@Qwyrdo That's pretty much the short version of why I became a librarian!

@distelfliege @ruth Would a thundershirt work for your pets for fireworks? Or are they too loud/startling for a thundershirt to help?

@distelfliege Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. But I've lived all over the US, and firework use at the new year is pretty consistent around the country, in places where their use is legal. The little suburb I'm in now, they're illegal but a few people will still light them off--but it helps.
