So we're looking at a government shutdown over here in the US - the federal building I work in is adopting it's "sure looks like it" attitude. Circulating lists of who can still come into the building (almost nobody) and stopping experiments now so nothing would run over the weekend. Turns out I have a hefty backlog of data I can enter (oh yay) so I can "telework" from the couch come Monday, if we're closed up.
But seriously, a bunch of people I work with need their paychecks.

@auntiekiki Yes. One of my good friends here has two young kids. The last shutdown was super tight for them with rent and food money. It's so insane.
