Am guessing someone's already told you this, but just in case not: A thing that helped me was to remember that it doesn't have to be an argument in the sense that we normally use that word. It can be more of "Hey, lookit this cool thing I thought of, that's a combination of things these other folks came up with." So you're extending the conversation. Also, that's why your sense of "not enough material" might be pointing in the _right_ direction. All you need is a niche in the building of all Mayan scholarship.
