I'm a witchy trans lady, tabletop rpg nerd, femslash enthusiast

this is mostly a place for chill community to recover from doing intensive activism things all day irl that I don't talk about because pseudonymity is important to me

mutuals can hug and pet me without asking; I'm a cuddly fangbeast

I want to see art of cute ladies and enbies holding hands, making out, and being badasses

and chat about witcheing, RPGs, femslash, feels and learn about y'all and be sparkle magic friends

this place reminds me I'm not alone when irl peeps don't share my values

It's been a zillion years since I ran a traditional RPG like D&D. I've been running story games with a lot more player input, and a focus on story, not simulation.

We're about to get started and my players are asking "How does X work? Who lives in this blank spot on the map? etc." and I'm like... why don't we wait and see what the story needs? Why make all that up in advance?

But it's fair to ask, too. They're making characters and want more to work with, while I want to define truths about the world to work well with their ideas.

I'm out of practice!

Unexpected free time, but it's very easy to decide what to do with free time during the day: sleep until blessed darkness returns.

I've made four good, solid, emotional-support-and-fun friends in the past three years since moving to the SF Bay Area, who have then moved away. Two in the past week.

I'm feeling tired of putting in all that work and then being left without any local friend support. Kind of hopeless.

I don't think there's anything I can do differently?

But maybe I could be better about staying connected to long-distance friends.

also during the RPG one of the characters had their 18th birthday and their cousin was bitten in half by a dragon in the middle of giving a toast

yesterday I did good! I made a birthday cake shaped like the Death Star, I ran an RPG, and I ran some Imperial Assault for the birthday girl (and murderated them hard. I won't go easy on you, even on your birthday)
