I'm a witchy trans lady, tabletop rpg nerd, femslash enthusiast

this is mostly a place for chill community to recover from doing intensive activism things all day irl that I don't talk about because pseudonymity is important to me

mutuals can hug and pet me without asking; I'm a cuddly fangbeast

I want to see art of cute ladies and enbies holding hands, making out, and being badasses

and chat about witcheing, RPGs, femslash, feels and learn about y'all and be sparkle magic friends

this place reminds me I'm not alone when irl peeps don't share my values

Studying evolutionary psychology fucked me up when I was younger. I really believed that people were out to self-maximize on behalf of their genes, that altruism wasn't real and the appearance of kindness was ultimately self-serving.

It took closeness with a lot of good people in my life for me to reject those ideas and believe in empathy and kindness again and be able to trust people.

Now my attitude is that genes screwed themselves over when they made brains capable of caring about things other than reproducing genes, and that's good from my perspective. So evolutionary psych notions give too much credit to genes (and are undisprovable pseudoscience)

investigating and exposing scandal as broadly as possible among our rulers is something I'm enthusiastic about

impeachment, though, would be a huge expenditure of energy for little benefit

I'd rather Dems use that energy on obstruction and extracting useful concessions

right now there are factions vying for control among Republicans; impeachment of Trump would consolidate that power in the evangelical/traditional wing and they'd be more effective
