@aprrrl @Sylvhem @wire “queue” doesn't read as rude to me, but it's definitely slang. The main difference is that they wouldn't get used in the same social contexts, I would say, though “queue” and “bite” feel pretty similar to me.

NB: verge isn't scientific, but it's definitely less vulgar. All the others are vulgar, by virtue of being graphic metaphors instead of a proper name.

It works the same with the testicles: pretty much any round object will work as a metaphor, from "les bijoux de famille" to "les noix", but some will be more commonly used than others. :<

"bite", "queue" and "pine" are pretty synonymous. I would say "bite" is a little less crude, hence could be used in a formal conversation with friends (well, only if your friends don't use a specially elevated language).
Unlike the others, "verge" is not slang. It's just another word for penis.
