@benhamill we sit in the teachers' lounge and there is a stock of school chosen books for them to pick from
@benhamill http://www.getsmartoregon.org I go to the school (walk to one in my neighborhood) got a first grader and a second grader. They pick books and who reads. Very child led and focus on making it fun
Today I started my one hour a week reading to elementary kids. I get two kids, half an hour each. Doing my best to infect with love of reading.

@wilkie i will happily rant endlessly about how a phd program is awful and terrible and there is no training for the thesis and it doesn't matter after and it's just letting them tell you for years that you aren't good enough for academia. It feels like a scam they pull to have people to look down on. While giving you a nervous breakdown.

@benhamill 8 inches is a lot of laptop space. I think 100 sounds reasonable, regardless of how much you adjust the design/size

@benhamill I like to give myself a ridiculous project budget. Basically under $50 I will do it if it makes me laugh. Something like this might be a good bounding box on how much to spend on shipping
