The choice was $1200/month + degree or $3500/month + no degree while doing the same amount of work. that was an easy choice. still sucks tho. At least I escaped the stress of comps!
@wilkie i will happily rant endlessly about how a phd program is awful and terrible and there is no training for the thesis and it doesn't matter after and it's just letting them tell you for years that you aren't good enough for academia. It feels like a scam they pull to have people to look down on. While giving you a nervous breakdown.
