put differently—the reason for procedurally-generated stories (for example) is to populate some other system (like a game) that needs a story inside it to make it go, when you don't want to write that story by hand (to save work, or evoke particular aesthetics). but my goal in generating poetry is never to, e.g., make realistic-seeming poetry for a game.
