The court did reinstate the ban, but only for people without a preexisting relationship in the country. The ban is still lifted for students at American universities, employees of American companies, relatives of American residents, etc.
Even in that form the ban is terrible, but the reporting on it had also been terrible. This was a very minor victory for the Trump administration, and if the ban survives the supreme court it will likely do so in a very reduced form.
That's not so say any of this is acceptable, the supreme court is still a terrible institution. I just hate the headlines.
