i later found out they blabbed to various acquaintances. and then acted like they were the wronged party when i expressed displeasure. and next time our paths crossed at a tradeshow they avoided eye contact as they walked past and pretended i didn't exist
i fell prey to this classic cissism at least twice, the last time with my then-boss and HR. (do not trust HR to protect you or keep your confidence.)
Some people will address you the way you ask only when they speak to you, but constantly misgender and dead name you to your friends.
"you're going out of your way to be offended, 'dude' and 'guys' are gender-neutral"
and also "man" now, horrifyingly. "oh, i say 'man' to everyone!" reasonable response: "well, please eat shit. i say that to everyone, politely."

the funny part is, they often think trans people are deceptive, but they're the ones pullin' basic verbal tricks to hide their true feelings about us
you know when cis people pointedly use "they" to refer to a trans person even when they already know that person's real pronouns? (i see chelsea manning getting this treatment today)

i was happy++ that FF12 finally got a PC release date (and soon) but dang, as with most remasters, they fucked up the image quality
the loss of color vibrancy in the desert (see vid comparison) really hurts. i love the original game's bold vibrant look. looks like they squashed it.

has anyone ported doom to the intel management engine yet?
streaming on twitch (which i haven't done since july, need to get back to it soon) has been surprisingly positive for my self-perception. getting used to my recorded voice and how i appear on camera -- and not reflexively hating both, though i'm still sensitive -- is a real positive development
(also, my sound engineer friend's EQ settings alone make the new mic sound sooo much better than my jank old lapel thing. lookin' forward to usin it)
