This is what I understand of the Intel scandal, based on this: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/02/intel_cpu_design_flaw.

Intel 64-bits processors from the last ten years are bugged. A pretty serious design flow allow programs running in user mode to access the kernel memory, which contains a lot off sensitive data such as passwords or cached files.
The only way to fix that is to isolate the kernel memory from the rest of the system. Problem, the only way to do that is by doing a major overhaul of the way most OS handle memory. Also, computers using Intel products will probably be 5 to 30% slower because of this, at least for one now.
So, it's really a big mess.

Hardest thing to accept as a black transwoman in the U.S. is that the standards of civility, proficiency, brilliance and humanity are not applied equally. Oppressors fake these virtues, and the oppressed work themselves to death to make these virtues real. And the fruits of their labor are robbed from them.

The only lasting comfort I can get in this country is that I am real and living. But my politics is about turning that solace into communal joy, even if it is difficult or if I am mistaken.
