in cloud backup news, Crashplan finally ditched the old java client for... well, another java client, but one that presumably won't consume 5+ gigs of RAM on large backup sets. gooooood.....
but as is so often the case these days, they also greatly reduced the app's functionality, removing features and previously powerful user interfaces, like the tree selection screen for file restore. ugh. now you can't restore more than one file tree at a time, i guess, or see the current upload status of your backup sets on a single screen

My grandparents decided to learn Welsh when they were 65. After two years of lessons in it (and talking Welsh with me at home, I was going to a Welsh school and was already fluent), they were fluent. My grandmother, around the same time, decided to overcome her phobia of water and had me teach her how to swim. She'd swim laps with me in the pool up into her 80s.

Battle.net client isn't too bad, but why is the scrolling/response so sluggish? beh
i was annoyed by the autoplaying videos too but there is a way to kill them
add this line to your windows hosts file:
0.0.0.0 cache-us.battle.net
the client will now be unable to update its videos. i also had to clear the folder AppData\Local\Battle.net\BrowserCache\Cache to get rid of the already-downloaded video annoying me in the overwatch tab
