it's interesting that you can look at furry / anime / whatever art / cg from 5+ years ago and tell it's 5+ years old.

THE PREMISE: my 86 y.o. friend wanted to go to walmart to get milk

THE EXECUTION: i drove us there but when i saw the parking lot remembered it was black friday. ohh.

THE GOOD END: we found an amazing handicapped space right near the door

THE STOMACH-CHURNING TWIST: she went to fish out her parking placard and discovered she had forgotten it in her other purse

THE ANTICLIMAX: i dropped her off by the door and drove around a few more minutes, reflecting on how poorly timed both our milk trip and her losing the placard were. eventually i found a space and located her in the milk aisle.

yo i've been unhappy with the color calibration of my monitors, left esp., but didn't want to spend $70 to rent a hardware calibrator

turns out a tiny Windows app called QuickGamma can get you 90% of the way there, and it's real simple. at the end it spits out an .icc profile that windows automatically adopts

now left-mon f.lux colors don't look so fuxed 💯

Standard Notes looks Pretty Neat as an open-source evernote alternative. however the free product is plaintext only, no markup. $35/year for civilized editing capabilities.

i currently pay $0 for evernote and am fairly satisfied with its featureset, so i'll need more ideological reasons to switch to this. it looks promising so far though!
