how did i get this far without hearing that my micro-generation is called Xennials?
previously i'd only heard and hated "Generation Catalano" (wtf). "Oregon Trail generation" was slightly better but too specific
Xennials will do nicely
@bunnyhero evernote is such a clunker
i should find something better someday
@grime_witch some people's opinions are inexplicable
@kaniini it's incredible how far this project has strayed over the last 5 years, and that anyone would want to use it
my most memorable dream of the past week was probably the one where i won an Emmy for creating an episode of some random podcast (?!) i'd put little effort into. i felt it was undeserved but i really enjoyed how the trophy awed everyone i encountered
For the price of the awful Chrono Trigger PC port of an Android port of a DS port, you could buy the entire Genesis Phantasy Star trilogy, a Whopper and a 40. You know what to do.
one month until roommate's leavin, have to find a replacement by then
been stuck in a rut trying to accomplish an apartment-wide clean for the past few days, which i feel is necessary before showing it to randos
must... push... on...
@Triplefox omg you're in japan
all the photos are makin' me nostalgic. have fun!
@wednesday https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/bloomsbury-market-70-x-85-dagan-shoji-5-panel-room-divider-bbmt8749.html
68 lbs, probably wood!
narrator: actually it was constructed of poisonous lead
@wednesday https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/world-menagerie-hoceima-oriental-shoji-4-panel-room-divider-wdmg8208.html?piid=20118410
the fact that this one is described as being constructed of "solid wood" is a good sign, right?
@wednesday cool. i live near the lake in oakland and have passed that place before
i admire DERNISE's commitment to gettin' those reviews out no matter what
@wednesday thanks. it isn't on amazon (brings up the usual dividers with bamboo prints, not materials) but it can be elsewhere
wayfair.com seems to specialize in non-toxic furniture and they have several bamboo screen-type things
unfortunately they get away from the paper-based japanese-style dividers that let light pass through in favor of denser, more tropical-looking things
I took it to the limit during a pointless battle
california has a law called proposition 65 that requires labeling on products that contain toxic chemicals, such as carcinogins
here's an explainer on why formaldehyde in cheap furniture products is bad news
https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/fact-sheets/formaldehyde-furniture-products
seems very difficult to find a mass-produced japanese-style room divider that doesn't contain offgassing formaldehyde ?
Alone in the Dark's ominous camera angle throughout the series #DOSGaming
@JordiGH my cynical side wonders if perhaps part of the reason she was reasonably attired was that samus' gender was a secret until you beat the game under a certain time, at which point they could spring the reveal on you with a bikini
@alyx Samus Aran was for the most reasonably attired but then gamedevs were like, hey, we have a woman in this game, we'd better also offer her body as a reward for the player and then everything went to shit.
At least Metroid Prime doesn't do this at all and that makes it the best Metroid ever. I love that you actually saw your reflection in the helmet visor.
@JordiGH possibly the most exciting bullet point in a game that has lots of them ;P
surprising how rare it is
