JESUS CHRIST WINDOWS 10
@fillertrack in an ideal world windows would completely avoid eye contact while booting
@Maenad lookin' at the author list 4 were livejournal friends and one who i didn't know kindly gave me really good voice tips
the community is so tiny sometimes

@srol *idly scratches at eyepatch*
years later when reminiscing about their past decade of work they blogged "we had a truly special team. ... [deadname] and i had a falling out, but i wish [wrong pronoun] the best."
eat all the shit ever you cistricking fuck
"hey medium-tier friend, uh, i wanted to tell you that i'm coming out as trans. like, i'll be living as a woman. not many people know at this point so PLEASE keep this to yourself. no #cistricks, okay?"
"yes, of course. what's a cistrick?"
i later found out they blabbed to various acquaintances. and then acted like they were the wronged party when i expressed displeasure. and next time our paths crossed at a tradeshow they avoided eye contact as they walked past and pretended i didn't exist
i fell prey to this classic cissism at least twice, the last time with my then-boss and HR. (do not trust HR to protect you or keep your confidence.)
@frostotron i'm sorry people's suckiness affected you. :/
@frostotron oof. i hope that never happened to me. maybe i'm too naive.
Some people will address you the way you ask only when they speak to you, but constantly misgender and dead name you to your friends.
"you're going out of your way to be offended, 'dude' and 'guys' are gender-neutral"
and also "man" now, horrifyingly. "oh, i say 'man' to everyone!" reasonable response: "well, please eat shit. i say that to everyone, politely."
#cistricks, overlapping with linguistic sexism that erases women
@thindol "You don't look like a non-asshole either, but here I am treating you like one."
could use a little workshopping
@thindol yikes.
@alyx Ooh ooh chronic "I'm just forgetful" but conveniently only about pronouns
Insisting on strict gender performance ie; women in skirts and long hair, men with short hair, justified as "just want to help you pass" - with all that shitty subtext
Generic technically-true-but-shitty justifications for fucking up, ie; "that's just how English is."
@thindol you have definitely seen a few #cistricks
@srol it's probably one of these

the funny part is, they often think trans people are deceptive, but they're the ones pullin' basic verbal tricks to hide their true feelings about us
