doesn't look particularly brilliant though. definitely miss the koshiro soundtrack of the first game
@alyx It's super good! One of my favorite exploration platformers. I have no experience with anything else in the series though. At the time I hadn't played any other "Metroidvania" and was blown away by the scope of it.
@matt that's cool. the vid i watched, the player clearly knew where to go in the big world map. without prior experience, is there a lot of random wandering?
i heard the 2017 metroidvania hollow knight is excellent. want to check that out.
@alyx I think it depends on how observant you are. I wandered a lot as a kid but it was mostly because I missed or ignored possible exits and I was trying to figure out where I needed to go.
Hollow Knight seems rad! On my list of games to check out for sure.
