@alyx you should definitely talk to a doctor i think, there are lots of kinds of angina that do different things but it's hard to tell sometimes

@alyx I live with this pain. (I'm feeling it right now) I've been to the ER twice thinking it was my heart. It never is. Bad bad reflux.

It sucks. It's scary. If you're not sure, you should go to the ER just to be sure. But, I wouldn't panic. :)

Side note, heart is not in the left of your chest, it's in the center.

@alyx Your intestines reach all the way up there. Also, your body is actually pretty bad at pinpointing the exact location of internal pain.

@alyx I have acid reflux - affected by greasy, spicy, acidic foods. Chest only -esophageal only if I'm laying down. Will easily last 4-8 hours if I don't take my antacids.

It's worth checking with your doctor about, because it's easily treatable, but probably? isn't emergency room level unless the pain is bad.

You can try an OTC Zantac before/after eating and see if it helps, then you'll know for sure.

@alyx idk if the emergency room is necessary, that sounds really expensive for something that might not even be serious, but honestly it's better safe than sorry with this kind of stuff. You should make an appointment with a doctor asap at the very least, I'd hate to hear that you got really ill because of something you could have prevented!
