2 more puzzles until i've finished every hand-designed hexcells puzzle that exists
end of an era
or a couple weeks of late-night play at least
@alyx I bought the bundle on Steam over Thanksgiving and breezed through the first game so easily I was worried the whole series was gonna be that easy.
I haven't even finished Plus yet, which means I haven't touched Infinite. My fears were so unfounded.
@witchfynder_finder hehe, yeah, Plus is a real difficulty bump. was a bit intimidating at first
my playtimes are 3h, 15h, 10h (so far). i think learning the tricks in Plus makes Infinite go more easily
@witchfynder_finder yep, agreed
i am really impressed by the hand-designed puzzles. i wonder what methods the author used to concoct them.
@witchfynder_finder 1. be really smart
2. make puzzles
@alyx Instructions unclear, got puzzles caught in ceiling fan
@witchfynder_finder oh wow there's an editor and user-made custom levels for Hexcells Infinite!
@alyx Oh, wow! That's awesome!
But the real question: Are any of them any good? =P
@witchfynder_finder i've already seen a bunch of comments from users complimenting other users' creations. most threads on the subreddit are for specific level packs.
@witchfynder_finder oh i forgot hexcells creator matthew brown has a bunch of others puzzlers too

our cup runneth over
@alyx Yeah, Crosscells and Squarecells were part of another bundle over Thanksgiving that I didn't see and I'm kinda sad about it cos I'm p sure it was like an extra dollar to get those two.
@witchfynder_finder we are cell addicts :(
@alyx What can I say? I love me some good puzzles.
@witchfynder_finder i like *logic* puzzles (all deductive thought, no action) but i don't know many other games like this?
picross games got my engine revving 20 years ago but i think that's pretty played out / repetitive now. lmk if you know other cool logic puzzlers!
@alyx I'm still all about picross, but I only really got into it, like, maybe a year ago.
There's a really fun phone game called Sym-a-Pix which you might enjoy. The controls are wonky but it's also a logic puzzle game built around the concept of finding pictures so it might scratch that picross itch.
@witchfynder_finder cool i'll check it out
here are two steam puzzlers i found decent in the past
Everyday Genius: SquareLogic
http://store.steampowered.com/app/32150/Everyday_Genius_SquareLogic/
kind of enhanced sudoko, but changes up the rules every "world". basically unlimited content, though no one puzzle is as good as a solid hexcells level
Puzzler World
http://store.steampowered.com/app/33650/Puzzler_World/
lots of puzzle types, some better than others. tons of content. has a low-rent mobile game feel.
@alyx Dope, I'll check them out~ Thanks for the recs~
@witchfynder_finder oh this sym-a-pix thing is one of the puzzle types in puzzler world :)
i'm real rusty
@alyx Yeah, I'd be really interested to see how they came up with some of them.
