i understand that you can do some sort of (is it even emulation? i don't mean WINE) GPU passthrough in Linux that lets you run WIndows games at only a small performance hit. sounded tricky to setup though.

W7 is just too creaky for me though. W10 has various performance / tech advantages. W7 lacks DX12 too.
