giving searx a try. it collates search results from other sources

i've lazily defaulted to google search till now because i found it convenient with high-quality results

i run anti-tracking stuff and never let it have a perm. cookie but i'm unsure how much that limited its tracking me? (my best guess is it could track me per-browser session until the session cookie was destroyed, but maybe it was worse)
