anyone have a fave/best windows-OS masto client? i see six to try here:

github.com/tootsuite/documenta

may be time to liberate mastodon from firefox

Capella is instantly selling me just with that one screenshot and bullet list

github.com/coolstar/Capella

looks way more mature than i expected

plz stop boosting my early, naive Capella praise 😅

Flantter is much more featureful (it's also a twitter client) but the win10 interfacery makes me want to stab instead of toot and so far it seems limited to just 2 simultaneous columns? it has some "advanced features" i can't see locked behind a paywall (vis a vis this remarkable message) witches.town/media/sqV_3wesoE9

ok, my winner for favorite windows masto client is now mstdn

github.com/rhysd/Mstdn

it's just the web interface running in a window via the magic of electron, consuming some ~140 MB of RAM

but turns out "just the web interface" feels a lot more useable and feature-complete than anything i saw in Flantter or especially Capella

uh-oh, problem just popped up. someone's reply to me generated a win10 notification toast/sound. DO NOT WANT HELP. maybe win10 itself can disable those... checkin

@alyx Did you figure that out? I'd imagine the notification column's settings would fix that...

💫Alyx @alyx

@Skirmisher cool, no toast notice this time

you have to disable it for the app in question in pc settings -> system -> notifications

i have browser-based toasts ON for replies and DMs in firefox but i hate how the OS-level ones behave in win10. can disrupt other apps ime
