anyone have a fave/best windows-OS masto client? i see six to try here:
https://github.com/tootsuite/documentation/blob/master/Using-Mastodon/Apps.md
may be time to liberate mastodon from firefox
Capella is instantly selling me just with that one screenshot and bullet list
https://github.com/coolstar/Capella
looks way more mature than i expected
@HeckTheCistem yeah i am using it and i just literally said out loud I HATE THIS because i can't find the options screen? where is it?!
@HeckTheCistem ooh almost there
have it configured juuuust right
@alyx God yeah I had the same first thought. Even when I found the frustratingly hidden way to add columns, I don't like not being able to maximize it. The theme colors are based on the Windows ones.
Mstdn is winning me over rn but none of them are particularly great
@HeckTheCistem yeah this is not a good one atm
next up will try the pretty japanese one
@alyx This is the most exciting adventure of my week lol
@HeckTheCistem well, hold on to your hat, because i'm downloading Flantter from the windows motherfucking store atm
...at 72 Kb/s
@alyx Every time I use the Windows store I am thoroughly impressed by how slow it is
@HeckTheCistem fancy, huh?
the store is vile, UWP is a cancer, and my life will be better if i never commit to using UWP apps beyond Calculator
i'm actually surprsied how many of these masto apps are using UWP. is win32 so unattractive for these projects? (not a programmer...)
(oops, had the abbreviation wrong)
@alyx I ocassionally like UWP apps (I use them for audiobooks and Twitch), but most of them feel really cheap and limited. Electron is pretty unpopular amongst devs on Masto too, but there's still an app with that too
@HeckTheCistem ok so just learned i can right-click on an icon to get an "add column" feature, much wanted, thank goodness. still no options screen though. wondering where the theme colors come from. windows itself? hopefully not.
