s1 is rough. 2-4 are gold. 5 is less good. movies kinda suck.

but if the style, including the low budget and sometimes just ok acting, doesn't click for someone sure, i can see disliking it

@alyx I bought S1 and watched it all the way through and didn't like it at all. I was told "Nah season 1 is bad it gets good in season 2". So I bought S2, watched it all the way through and liked it even less than season 1!
I was told "nah you see, season 1 and 2 are the bad seasons, it gets good at 3."

At that point I felt I had a "fool me once" situation on my hands so I didn't watch past it.

@Fiona wow, you've spent way more $ on it than i have, hehe. good show of commitment. i'm sorry it didn't pay off.

it's an interesting take, because i remember it really taking off with S2. (i will probably do a rewatch at some point, hence the recent downloading)

do you remember what you disliked about it? (assuming you care enough to continue talkin' about it, no worries if not!)

@alyx I think I just largely found the situations boring and regularly ridiculous. Also I was super duper upset by things like "put lady in a cocoon omg she's going to turn into something special, something really magic, omg, what's it gonna be..??? oh she's just a lady with less stuff on her"
Everything that was even a tiny mystery that there ended up being an answer too I found anticlimactic.

Basically it just completely failed to keep my interest. :/

cocoon lady delenn does end up pretty awesome though :) bein' a space war badass and omg (s5 spoiler) the end of her days with sheridan ;_; ;_; :_;

it will be interesting to watch again and see how i feel now

that is why i started nier (360) at least a year and a half ago and still keep telling myself i'll push through it to hopefully see wtf people like the damn thing for

sometimes after a long time has passed i start to doubt my impression of something from a decade or two ago. but i think close to always when i go back to reassess i end up with the same opinion

that said i almost kinda want to have you be a B5-watchin buddy but not if you're likely to hate it, and it sounds like you might be :)
