having short hair is different, but not in the ways i expected

i thought i'd notice it a lot and be constantly aware of the increased freedom of action, but i'm not. maybe because it's still longish in the front on either side?

however, i keep catching myself reaching back to move the now-gone foot-and-a-half of hair out of the way when i put on a shirt or something

i also go to run my fingers through it and they run out of hair almost instantly
