@theartguy "Avoids contractions and maintains a formal tone" will be on the rubric for every essay I assign next year.

currently watching the first episode of Anne with an E, and I am super confused by their choices.

I'd be interested to hear from you if you have a certain garment that always makes you think of a specific song/album. For me, it's this lavender denim shirt I bought back when I had purple hair, "pastel goth" and the word "aesthetic" were thrown around a lot, and I was obsessed with Wild Nothing's album, Nocturne. I've found that every time I put on this shirt, I mentally run through the first three or four tracks of that album before I realize what I'm doing. It's an all-time favorite. ⛅️

I ordered matching tarot and lenormand decks and I have to wait until tomorrow for them to show up. 😬 *grabby hands*

@Hiraelle I've never even tried measuring ingredients in grams. I didn't know that was a thing!

@Hiraelle I'm American, which means I measure stupidly and probably make food all wrong, but I enjoy baking. A cup is 8 fluid ounces (or half a pint). I usually only use cups and spoons to measure liquids. If it's a spice and they don't want it level, the recipe will specify "heaping." If it's supposed to be level, it'll say "packed." I use a kitchen scale for measuring most other things.

I don't bother with a gaming console until I hear they're releasing a new Animal Crossing for it, so if you could just keep me updated on that front, I'd really appreciate it. 🍃

@GinnyMcQueen I continue birbing because I work at a STEM school and we make a lot of connections with our students that way. however, I've unfollowed all students and some teachers and see a LOT less when I get on there: mostly just stuff I would want to share with my students about writing and creativity. I'm still considering deleting it, I'm just not sure that makes sense with the way I use it.

yesterday was Day 2 of summer vacation. I was supposed to meet up with the other English 2 teacher so that we could plan for next year, but she flodged out on me. I ended up spending the whole day reading a Sarah Waters book instead, and I'm about 60% of the way through it now.

Today our Librarian, myself, and several students geeked out about how to make spinners. They're using a clay mold, I'm using zip ties.

Ban things if you want, but it's more fun to take student interests and bend them to your curriculum.
