I used to make postcards. sometimes, I'd open up the white pages and send one to a random address in town. it was nice to make something and not feel attached to it because I knew I was never going to see it again.

I was just one twitch away from deleting that FB profile today when I discovered that some girl I was in a sociolinguistics class with 18 months ago needed to be schooled on Buffy. #priorities

@erdal I've deleted nearly everything off of it. rachael I have to return it to the school in a few weeks. any time I asked about a declutter option, everyone was like 🤷‍♀️, "Macs don't do that."

@erdal I have been having having that experience, but I assumed it was the MacBook (one that the school gave me) and not the browser.

I've been bringing a few books home from the school each day so I won't have to do it all at once, but I've not been putting them away. Thus, stacks on stacks on stacks.

@DialMforMara I wonder if it also matters how large your instance is. greeting and signing off might make more of a difference on a smaller instance. also, some seem to treat mastodon more like a chat room, which would make sense.

@SuzanEraslan I deleted it when Six Apart sold it to a Russian company, but I transferred all the old posts to a Wordpress, first. I lost some stuff like photos, but the text is all there. i'm pasting it into a doc now because it's difficult to navigate all the transferred posts.
