I keep seeing these metaphors/comparisons between aztec human sacrifices and modern human sacrifices. once I saw a comic comparing children killed in traffic and aztec sacrifices. now another one comparing them with late stage capitalism.

I feel that depicting historic aztec culture as a metaphor for brutal hell (which it was, maybe? but aren't there plenty of other examples?) is a bit racist. the colonizing culture using another culture they brutally wiped out as a metaphor for a brutal hellish system.. that's following a racist logic, isn't it?
