@sireebob oh totally. and i think a lot of times like.... working enough that you have the money to donate means you maybe dont have the desire/energy to research which orgs are more deserving of your money. as far as marriage goes, yeah i agree re: civil unions but also i think that a lot of the rights that marriage has afforded couples should actually just be rights for everyone (citizenship and healthcare come to mind)

petitions against the dog meat trade are always so popular and also such a good place for people to be overtly racist while ignoring the horrors committed by the meat industry everywhere else

@sireebob heh gotcha. mostly i just think they're a ridiculous organization that has a history of campaigning for gay rights (namely marriage) under the veil of "human rights" while largely ignoring trans issues (theyve gotten better at this recently) and partnering with large companies that manufacture products in sweatshops and have really bad politics. they also get soooo much funding and dont really have a lot to show for it, but their executives get really large salaries. its all kind of a scam imo.

since when is marriage a human right anyways?
