In their case, it’s because they’ll stick to their ideas or refuse to understand my POV. In my case, it’s because “THIS IS ABOUT ME SO I PROBABLY KNOW BEST, RIGHT ?”

About : to sum it up, her feelings aren’t in the wrong place, and she’s not transphobic. She just believes that all points of view should be heard out and debated (which is also true concerning anti-feminists)…
The one point she’s missing though is that the oppressive group has nothing to lose in those debates, and will willingly participate; whereas the oppressed group has everything to lose except maybe a slightly improved situation and will have to fight for it with tears and with blood, and at the expense of their personal safety. Should TERFs invite me to debate transidentity, their point of view (and mine) will not change.

And they’re only one branch of radical feminism, and the only transphobic, organized one. I myself identify as a radical feminist.

Anyway, TERF’s transphobia isn’t the real problem for us, just like the KKK’s racism isn’t the real problem for POC. Our real problem is that those people have an organization that’s going after us. The root of the problem is transphobia and TERFs are one of transphobia’s avatar, so instead of facing oppression on an individual basis, we’re facing an organization that’s gonna fight till it’s last breath to eradicate us. And every single victory for them is a severe defeat that touches all of us instantaneously. But obviously, if transphobia didn’t exist, TERFs wouldn’t either.

So we’re not facing a few transphobic feminists among the feminist movement, but a movement that was built against trans people. It’s not what they claim to be doing, but it’s clearly what they do. And they’re usually related to white supremacists and radical republicans, so there’s a reason why they remind me of the KKK.

TERF : Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminism : so a group of radfems who exclude trans people from their feminism cause in their eyes, trans women aren’t women. For example, they’re gonna pretend that trans women are men who are gonna present as women to be included in women’s groups or women’s prisons to assault them. And they don’t even have examples of that, they just thought about that on their own. Anyway, if TERF’s weren’t transphobic, the TERF movement wouldn’t exist.

Actually, it seems like she’s gonna debate a trans person so I’m gonna skip the TERF part to check it out

Alright so I watched the first 45m of ‘s live…and I’m not gonna watch all of it ‘cause I already know what I wanna know. As far as I know, she’s not transphobic but she considers that TERF’s actions against trans people are no different than trans activists who vandalized one of their libraries even though, damnit, they have the right to go in.
Just to be clear: TERF’s aren’t a problem because they’re transphobic, they’re a problem because they fight against our rights to a proper healthcare and to a proper ID so we can survive in this society.
