The real solution to DRM is legislative and simple: any work published with the consent and knowledge of the copyright holder under DRM is no longer under copyright.

You can either participate in copyright including full-on fair use, archival copies, lending, and people actually owning the media they buy

But you don't have to dig too deeply into established legal definitions of say, what does and doesn't constitute violent crime to see a seed of a more technical, formal definition of violence - a definition that sounds something more like "an act of violence is the nonconsensual removal of choice".

Say you have bronchitis is your violent coughing violent because its causing your body to exert itself, or because its stopping you from breathing normally?

First some context: when critical theory/socio-political philosophy types talk about the word "violence" in a theoretical sense, they're not using the same kind of definition that we use in everyday life. At its most obviously literal, when we think of violence, we think of *physical* violence. Our most straight forward definition revolves around the idea of bodies moving vigorously, probably damaging each other in some way.
