I never trusted characters in stories -- and reality, as a result -- that claim to be totally righteous and demand you never listen to or "get corrupted by" some other force.

Was just reading a story recently where someone says this creature someone talked to looked pretty and sounded like she cared, but that just made her more dangerous a demon convincing people away.

If it's so easy to convince people away from "the faith", sometimes makes me question "the faith".

Like, when I talk about fascists, I kinda know their language. I avoid talking when I have no reason to assume good faith. I can at least listen first.

@Ulfra_Wolfe Indeed. And this can end in heartbreak, unfortunately, when someone we love listens to voices that we are almost certain will lead them into unhappiness and pain. We can be _almost_ certain but we can never be _entirely_ certain, and in any case we cannot override someone else's will without resort to violence. The best we can do is say, "I believe you are making a mistake, but go in peace." Unfortunately.

@mona The mutability of spirits can always lead to heartbreak. But attempting to restrict any situation that could possibly lead to heartbreak only guarantees pain.

In the same way, I don't think anything can guarantee a relationship will stay the way it is indefinitely. Some last indefinitely as loving, but many divorces will still happen. Restriction of divorce is by far the greater harm.
