Do the American Democrats ever talk about the economy and how they're going to make it so no American is poor or in poverty ever again?
@TipsyTentacle you can't have capitalism without having a poor class. and liberals love them some capitalism
@TipsyTentacle they sometimes talk about tax incentives.
@TipsyTentacle no, their ambition is to "grow the middle class"
@TipsyTentacle Yes, but generally Democrat politicians are usually too busy selling bombs, calling for drone strikes and, saying everyone but certain victimized groups are hate mongers.
@TipsyTentacle I think that's in the history with airships, difference engines and steam cars. Next timeline over.
@TipsyTentacle I think they've settled for promising small tax breaks to the "middle class"
@TipsyTentacle no because they're afraid centrists would think it's too "communist" and go vote for the Republicans, who keep pulling further right by the minute
@TipsyTentacle I have to say "yes, BUT" to this... the voting population and the party insiders are having a bit of a scuffle right now. Democratic voters want planks like universal healthcare, living minimum wage, better mental health and vet services, etc...
I think they're just deeply unconvinced that democratic insiders are really pursuing those things. So there's little enthusiasm in the polls.
@TipsyTentacle No one has talked about that since LBJ
