So a tweet I made today on Birdsite blew up. Specifically this:

Worth noting: when someone asks you to use pronouns they're not asking you to never make a mistake in your life.

They're asking you to just try, and to be aware that some people deliberately ignore or violate this request strictly to protest that and be overtly threatening.

This is 10x true when you know someone on both sides of a pronoun transition. Everyone knows that mistaken "he's" or "she's" can slip out.

Just try. We won't make it weird if you don't make it weird.

My faves can mean:

* I see you, so you know somebody is out there and cares and you don't toot into the cold empty universe. Doesn't mean I like that you feel bad, if that's what you just shared. I'm often not able to say it with words

When some people talk about filter bubbles and how it's good to burst them, they are almost always speaking in favor of centrism. "A person on the left should read right-leaning thought that they didn't agree with." But what about a left-learning person reading even-more-radical left-wing thought? That is still exposing yourself to new/uncomfortable ideas that challenge your beliefs.

I just find it curious that some people think "bursting your filter bubble" naturally lends itself to centrism.

I absolutely love hearing people talking about their passions. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone don't apologize for being enthusiastic about things you like. Passionate people are one of the few beautiful things about this world.
