Whenever someone misgenders me I try to remind myself their code was just written for my old API

happy international workers day!!

I know it's but this weekend has been so magical already. I'm wiped out. Weekends that I get to spend with both cute blue-haired girl and my primary are my favorite. 😊 😴

"[Loyalty Day] was first observed in 1921, during the First Red Scare.[2] It was originally called "Americanization Day,"[3] and it was intended to replace the May 1 ("May Day") celebration of the International Workers' Day,[citation needed] which commemorates the 1886 Haymarket affair in Chicago."

Software, like sausage, is a bunch of bits that have been processed and stuffed in a skin.

Right, it's 3AM where I am. G'night, all!

@geekylou @Eve Oh, missed the "trans" part ^^;;; I think there's some gender stuff in TLWTASAP but I need to re-read it ^^;;; there's an AI who wants a body and some non-binary stuff, at least.

@Eve @geekylou The best one I've read in awhile is The Long Way to A Small Angry Planet. It's got space lesbians! The sequel is out but I haven't read it yet. The Expanse novels (starting with Leviathan Wakes) are also good.

@Eve @geekylou The Hoka stories (collected in Earthman's Burden and Hoka! Hoka! Hoka!) are by Poul Anderson and Gordon Dickson, from ~1957. They're racist and sexist as all-get-out but the hoka themselves are fun. They're a pacifist race of teddy bears who take on roles from stories and play out AU-type plotlines.

@geekylou @Eve Makes sense. Those are kind of the formative SF authors, too. Did you read Asimov's Norby books, by any chance? I'm half-convinced they were a fever dream...

kink maybe? Afficher plus

@Eve @geekylou I think it was just a multilocation party. It's been awhile since I read Hyperion, though, so I could be wrong.
