That went well. Cute blue-haired girl made pretzels for us and we decided on my variant of Shadowjack's Star Trek-based Federal Space (https://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/FederalSpace:Main_Page) setting using my custom FATE Lite (http://www.arcanotech.com/blog/fate-lite-a-quick-dirty-and-tiny-rpg-system) system to start. There's a human hit-person, a Hoka hacker, a jaegermonster engineer, and a skraw scientist so far, with 2 other players still to join. (Skraw are arboreal 6-limbed, 6-eyed raptor-monkeys that spin spider-silk.)

The players have decided to be a crew of explorers/traders with loose morals, a la Firefly. Only, they don't have a ship. So I sent them on a doomed quest for an unknown patron to salvage an alien ship from some ancient underground ruins on an unaligned world. I used Donjon tools (http://donjon.bin.sh) to generate the ruins as we went and improved the rest. They're on the 2nd floor; not sure how many there are yet.

Everyone had fun exploring the ruins so far, though. They found (and licked) glowing fungus, blew a hole in the floor and jumped through, looted some holo-crystals, got nibbled on by bat-things, and found a room full of rusty cages and spikes. And another with an ancient healing machine still in operation. And signs that there may have been other people here recently, and they might still be here.

And now I get to take this scenario that I pretty much just made up on the spot and flesh it out and make it matter. Oh, and make maps. I love making maps.
