I don't know what I expected.

BUuuUt

I can gather three types of human sensory feedback data as well as self reporting. This should suffice for my purposes, unless I can find another concept for a wearable I can make that would add to my data points.

If it sounds like I'm a Psych student who switched majors, it's because I am.

A clinical setting is not feasible for my studies, as I want to learn about my own capacity for emotional response (and those of willing participants) day to day, for my AI project as well as a study on emotional intelligence and regulation for my own personal use.

This project is getting more ambitious as time goes on, but I AM LOVING IT.

SO.

I think I just added another layer of biometric data to follow for my emotions-tracker project. That is, if it has any bearing - though I might be able to test that, too!

Pulse Oximetry.

There's actually literature on the plausibility of a pulse oximetry ring (They made one!) that can be worn from day to day. SO! I can make one and use that as another datapoint.

Goddamnit I can't remember the correct nomenclature for people in wheelchairs and it bothers me.

Both of my parents need hearing aids, and I'm not sure if it's due to age or a condition, but I do have substantial evidence to suggest that I am Hard of Hearing, myself, already. That or I have a sensory processing disorder. It's not a matter of if, but which.

I also saw a really interesting technology for paralyzed folks to communicate using their eyes and a computer program being built by someone on hackaday.

And like, we probably do consider these transhumanist technologies but I'm just behind the curve.

So like, do we consider Deaf and HoH people with cochlear implants or hearing aids cyborgs? Maybe? If so, do we consider wheelchair users cyborgs? Crutches? Screen readers? Canes? All of these are technologies used to augment day to day living.

I know this isn't new, but it bothers me that the transhumanist movement is being co-opted by cis, able-bodied, neurotypical techbros.

Someone approached me on LinkedIn talking about their (proprietary) project. The project is really interesting, though! Basically it's a set of microphones for Deaf and HoH people to give to conversation partners in crowded places that can feed into a hearing aid or cochlear implant, or write to your phone.

It's interesting tech, albeit proprietary.

Took my injection today. It seems to be getting easier and less painful as time goes on.

Time to put on my best capitalism face.

I'm in a unique position where I've got really interesting ideas and I can't quite pursue them full hog yet because capitalism is making me not have the funds.

But if universal basic income were there, I probably would not have those ideas at all and would never work on anything for some reason. /s
