Y'know. Maybe it's jealousy. Maybe I'm a misanthrope. But looking at all of the design students that went to my university straight out of private schools and how much they've gotten to do in their new jobs actually disgusts me.

I once asked one of my design classes how many of them went to a public school in the US - maybe two of them raised their hands.

Basically all of them have done better than I have since College.

They had a foundation I didn't, so yeah, I'm jealous. These are people who had fucking Fine Arts courses provided within their high schools.

Jesus, I'm so fucking spiteful. I hate the design community and its classist bullshit.

It's really hard for me to say, though, because - well - I don't really remember a time before my hearing was like this? Not saying I couldn't hear more when I was younger but that it may have been so gradual that I haven't noticed it. I compensate for it really well, but the major issue I have is hearing words over background noise.

I have to have a phrase repeated around three times before I can hear it even over a little bit of music in the room.

I need to get an actual hearing test done before I make any definitive statements, but according to Nova, what I thought was an audio processing disorder is more likely due to being hard of hearing that I've compensated for.

So apparently my hearing ability may be below average? And there is a tiny possibility that I may go deaf?

I am weirdly fine with this.

Sketching with my old tablet finally feels good!!!! It took a lot of tweaking, but I've finally got it working to my needs, and I can get some stuff working now that I couldn't before.

Tonight I'll be doing my sketch studies on my tablet. Hopefully working on hair tonight.

Calligraphy and hand-lettering done to be made into a logo for a company my job is handling. I'm still learning, but there's marked improvement as I warmed up.

Note: Not all of the ideas are mine, some have been traced over with marker after someone else drew in pencil.

My hand-lettering is impriving for this logo. I'll scan some examples in soon and post the current iterations when I can!

Inhuman, by Aesthetic Perfection

Stretching my creative legs has been a rousing success. I think I'm going to try to improve my handwriting and get into calligraphy and hand-lettering soon.

The thought came to me today, where I'm trying to create a sort of script-y logo for one of my job's clients.

I finished my torso and head studies yesterday! They're up on my tumblr, but as I did yesterday, here they are!

I'm definitely improving - there are some mistakes, but the general structure is what's supposed to be there, and I got that! Next up is hair.

I'm thinking of simplifying the muscles into basic shapes for the purpose of figure drawing, as well.

Did you know that there are a lot of fuckin' muscles in the neck and head?

Now onto skull and head studies!

Tonight is my torso studies! And if I'm quick enough, I can work on some neck and head studies, too!

Ribs are fuckin' hard, y'all.
