Like, haha yeah men are trash but I would love it if we could all take a moment to reflect upon this pedestal we put women on and how it affects the people who have been hurt by women.

I always assessed the situation as less of a 'pedestal' and more of a 'irrelevant and harmless' thing
like how women who slept in the same bed couldn't POSSIBLY have been having sex, Victorian-era thinking went
after all they didn't WANT to have sex (except the deviants) in that mindset
nobody should be on a pedestal, but a lot of times this stuff, IMO, stems from the cultural assumption women are less capable of hurting others
when really they are just as capable of it
(and hopefully it goes without saying that Abuse Is Bad and I'm sorry you experienced it :( <3 )
@sydneyfalk i getcha, idk.
I'd say something more like "showpiece" or "valuable merchandise" -- both elevating and demeaning at the same time.
Think about who bathroom bills and gender segregation are supposedly intended to protect, and the effects they have on female autonomy.
(Not worrying about lesbian sex always made logical sense to me, though: can't get pregnant from that.)
Am I making any sense at all, or do I need to unpack this a bit?

Because nobody takes my sexual and emotional abuse nearly as seriously as the guy who spit in my face once and that really bothers me. It makes it difficult to come to terms with.
