Something's been rumbling in my head and I want holes poked in it or it to be reinforced so I can move on with my day:
Is a communal distribution center for creators to ship their goods through to customers a good idea?
The concept is that a creator sends their goods to the center, who then ships the product on to the purchaser. This is primarily to protect creators from stalking and harassment, and provide a way to semi-anonymize the shipping process.
I'm sure there's something like this already being done by a far larger company, but the entire idea is security minded. I'm certain that it could only stay that way as a small-time operation.
Agh, I have been overcome with logistics thoughts and an "I kind of want to do this thing" mindset.
@ThatVeryQuinn This seems highly compatible with my current project, which is basically like federated online retail.
@woozle Huh! That's really interesting!
Hang on, I want to throw some links at you but one of the wikis is down for a trivial reason...
@woozle Okie-doke!
@woozle I'll read sometime, prolly tomorrow or later tonight after my stream!
@woozle Okie-doke!
@ThatVeryQuinn No rush... will no doubt be wrestling with this thing for at least the remainder of the week.
