Simply reply to it and remove the @mention.

When someone opens your reply, it will then show the context for other folks.

@seasharp @wassimy Twitter killed its app ecosystem because they had their official app that got exclusive access to the API and features that other apps had no way of implementing.

Mastodon is the opposite of that. The API is the same for all apps, the web client you see is using the same API that all apps would use. And I'm not doing any "official" apps, instead relying on the ecosystem: Tusky, Amaroq, Tootdon, Subway Tooter, etc etc

I not infrequently see posts like this on twitter and as someone who sometimes considers ending it all I just kind of scratch my head. it’s certainly not harmful but it doesn’t really apply to me. Sometimes being alive is like being in a burning building, and suicide looks like jumping out the window on the 50th floor. It’s the best of a bad situation. My advice wouldn’t be “think of your loved ones,” it would be “your brain ain’t working right see a dang psychiatrist”
